We have provided the category-wise list for highest marks scored in graduation level posts for various exams conducted by JKSSB. After this list, a number of websites and blogs are providing cutoff for various item no. and advertisement no. by raising the maximum marks obtained from list of non-shortlisted candidates by 1 for various advertisements and categories. In this regard, there's a point worth discussing here. In our post "cutoff list for graduation level exams conducted on 22-Nov-2015" , we have clearly mentioned that the category-wise scores provided are the maximum marks scored by candidates from the list of non shortlisted candidates provided by JKSSB for graduation level posts. Please that these are the maximum marks scored and not the cutoff.
Now most of the websites and blogs are raising these maximum marks by one and calling it cutoff. Now here's a point to discuss. One of our friends who scored maximum marks from list of non-shortlisted in previously held JKSSB exam for Junior Engineer did the same mistake of assuming the cutoff to be one mark higher than his score. As he was expecting more marks, he filed an RTI to JKSSB requesting to provide OMR Sheet and the cutoff. After one month, when reply came from JKSSB he came to know that there was a gap of 6 marks between his marks and the last person shortlisted for interview by JKSSB as no one had scored between his marks and the last selected candidate. The same mistake has been done by most of bloggers and websites. We have specifically mentioned in our post that the scores are close to cutoff. As the actual list for cutoff will be provided by JKSSB when the selection procedure will be complete, there's an uncertainty of expecting the highest marks raised by one mark of non-shortlisted candidates to be cutoff. In case of Accounts assistant exam, one can expect the cutoff to more than the non-shortlisted by adding 1 mark to maximum marks obtained in the list non-shortlisted candidates as there is a trail of candidates scoring the same highest marks but same may not valid for other advertisements of district or state cadre and for all categories as the number of participants are lesser in number for other advertisements. If a website or blog claims that the cutoffs provided by it are 100% accurate then ask for a relevant proof. The actual cutoff list will be released by JKSSB after completion of selection procedure by JKSSB. Before that no cutoff list has been released by JKSSB. So, all the expected ere on the basis of list of non-shortlisted candidates provided by JKSSB for graduation level posts.
