Naik Mohan Nath Goswami Conferred Ashok Chakra Posthumously
Lance Naik Mohan
Nath Goswami from the Army's elite Para Special Forces (9 Para/6th Battalion of
the Rashtriya Rifles) was honoured with the Ashok Chakra, the nation's highest
peace time gallantry award for his brave, selfless and dedicated effort for his
country posthumously on January 26, 2016 on the occasion of the 67th Republic
Day. His wife received the Ashok Chakra Medal from the President. Lance Naik
Mohan Nath sacrificed his life for his country during
an anti-militant operation in Jammu and Kashmir.

Renowned
Gujarati litterateur Raghuveer Chaudhary has been selected for the prestigious
Jnanpith Award for 2015. He is the fourth Gujarati writer to win this coveted
award after Umashankar Joshi in 1967, Pannalal Patel in 1985 and Rajendra Shah
in 2001.
