Indian Army kills 5 Pakistani troopers on violation of ceasefire


The Army on May 26 foiled an attack by Pakistan`s Border Action Team (BAT) LoC in Uri sector in Kashmir and killed two of the intruders.
Srinagar: The Indian Army on Thursday killed five Pakistani troopers in a counter offensive strike along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district's Nowshera sector and Krishna Ghati sector in Poonch.



Six Pakistani soldiers were also said to be injured in the strong retaliatory fire from the Indian side.
Pakistan today violated the ceasefire by shelling mortars and opening fire on forward posts along the LoC, drawing retaliation from Indian troops.

On May 1, two Indian soldiers were killed and their bodies mutilated in a BAT attack in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.
