JKPSC recruitment for jobs in higher education department

JKPSC invites applications through online mode from the permanent residents for jobs in J&K State possessing the prescribed academic/ professional qualifications and age for the posts of Assistant Professor in Higher Education Department of the State as per the category-wise break-up tabulated below: 

Total vacancy: 563

Pay Scale: Rs.15,600 - 39,100 with A.G.P of Rs.6000

Important Dates:

a) Date of commencement for submission of online applications = 28.10.2017 

b) Last date for submission of online applications = 31st December, 2017 

c) Last date for submission of fee/bank challan = 02 January, 2018

Age Limit: Age as on _1st January 2017: 

1. Minimum: = 18 Years 

2. Maximum: = 40 Years 

a. Candidates in Govt. Service: = 40 Years 

b. Physically Challenged candidates: = 42 years 

c. Candidates belonging to RBA/SC/ST/ALC/SLC categories: = 43 years 

d. Ex-serviceman: = 48 years

Examination Fee: 

General Category = Rs.805.00 

Reserved Categories = Rs.405.00

Scheme of Selection:

The selection process shall be conducted in accordance with the Rule 51 of Jammu & Kashmir Public Service Commission (Business & Procedure) Rules, 1980 amended from time to time and notified vide Notification No. 07 -PSC (DR) of 2017 dated: 07.06.2017, available on the website of Commission i.e www.jkpsc.nic.in and the Notification/clarification issued by UGC from time to time.

Qualification for Assistant Professor:

Item No.: 61 to 106 

a) Good academic record as defined by the concerned university with at least with at least 55% marks { 50%, excluding any grace marks, in case of scheduled  Caste/Scheduled tribe/Differently-abled (Physically and Visually differently  abled) Categories/Ph.D. degree holders, who have obtained their Master’s Degree prior to 19th September 1991. } or an equivalent grade in a point scale where grading system is followed at the Master’s Degree level in the relevant subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited  foreign University. 

b) The candidate must have cleared NET/ SLET/ SET conducted by the UGC, CSIR/ AIU. 

c) The candidate who are, or have been awarded a Ph.D degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and procedure for Award of Ph.D degree regulations), 2009, shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/ SLET/ SET. 

d) NET/SLET/SET shall also not be required for such Master’s Programmes in disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET is not conducted.

Item No.: 107 to 109 

a) Good academic record as defined by the concerned university with at least 55% marks {50%, excluding any grace marks, in case of Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled tribe/ Differently-abled (Physically and visually differently abled) Categories/ Ph.D. degree holders, who have obtained their Master’s Degree prior to 19th September 1991} or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed at the Master’s Degree level in the relevant subject from an Indian/foreign University.

b) The candidate must have cleared NET/SLET/SET conduct by the UGC, CSIR/ AIU. 

c) NET/SLET/SET shall also not be required for such Master’s Programs in disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET is not conducted. 

d) The candidates who are, or have been awarded a Ph.D degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. degree regulations), 2009 shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET. 

OR 

e) A traditional and a professional artist with highly commendable professional  achievement in the concerned subject, who should have: 

i. Studied under noted/reputed traditional masters and has thorough knowledge to explain the subject concerned; 

ii. A high-grade artist of AIR/TV; and 

iii. Ability to explain the logical reasoning of the subject concerned and adequate knowledge to teach theory with illustrations in that discipline.

How to apply:

Candidates are required to apply online through the website (www.jkpsc.nic.in) of the Commission. No other means/ mode of application shall be accepted.

On successful submission, the candidate should take a printout of the fee payment challan and can deposit fees in any of the branches of Jammu and Kashmir Bank in the designated account number only printed on the e-challan. A counterfoil copy of the application fee payment e-challan duly authenticated by the bank 

with (a) branch name & code no and (c) date of deposit filled by the branch official shall be enclosed with the hard copy to be submitted at J&K Public Service Commission, Solina, Srinagar/ Resham Ghar Colony, Bakshi Nagar, Jammu .
