7th Pay Commission Latest News: Around 50 lakh central government employees might get a good news as Narendra Modi-led Centre is expected to fulfil their demand of hike in minimum basic pay in forthcoming days. Earlier their (central government employees) hopes were shunted after Minister of State for Finance P. Radhakrishnan in Lok Sabha had said that the government has no plans to increase the minimum salary beyond the seventh pay commission recommendations. The employees were reportedly demanding to hike the minimum basic pay to Rs 26,000 instead of Rs 18,000.
But now following the strong quarterly growth numbers, the government employees are hopeful that their much-awaited demand would be fulfilled. Experts also believe that as the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections are around the corner Narendra Modi-led Centre would be forced to fulfil the demands of 50 lakh employees.
