I. Jammu (also known as 'city of temples'):

1. Bahu fort:

• Constructed on the banks on Tawi River.
• constructed by Raja Bahu Lochan, brother of raja Jambu lochan. 
• It has a temple dedicated to the Hindu goddess Kali.
• A popular Hindu festival is known as "Bahu Mela" is held during the Navaratras in the fort area, twice a year, during March-April and September-October
• The forest area that surrounds the fort has been developed into a well laid out park called the "Bagh-e-Bahu", from where a commanding view of the city of Jammu could be seen. 

2. Hari Niwas palace

• Situated on the bank of Tawi river
• The palace was built by the Hari Singh, the last maharaja of Jammu and Kashmir, in 20th century 
• On the grounds of the estate lies also the Amar Mahal Palace museum. It was constructed by King Raja Amar of Dogra and has been converted into a museum.
• The Sivalik Hills or ranges lie to the north of the Mahal

3. Mahamaya Temple

• The temple is situated on the Bypass Road behind the Bahu Fort
• From the temple complex, you can behold beautiful sight of River Tawi.

4. Raghunath Temple

• Raghunath Temple was constructed by the first Dogra ruler Maharaja Gulab Singh and later his son Maharaja Ranbir Singh got it completed during Dogra rule
• The temple is devoted to the Hindu God 'Rama' or 'Ram', also known as Raghunath. 
• The temple with seven shrines is one of the largest temples of north India. 
• The temple premises include a school and a library that preserves over 6,000 manuscripts in many Indian languages

5. Mubarak Mandi Palace

• Mubarak Mandi is a palace in Jammu, India. The palace was the royal residence of the maharaja of Jammu and Kashmir from the Dogra dynasty

• Nowadays sections of the palace house government offices, courts and the Dogra Art Museum.

• The Dogra art museum is situated within the ‘Pink Hall’. The miniature paintings here belong to the Kangra, Jammu and the Basholi art school. It also has a gold painted bow and arrow of Mughal emperor Shah Jahan

6. Akhnoor Fort:

• lies on bank of the Chenab river
• The fort was built by Raja Alam Singh
• the Jia Pota Ghat on the right bank of Chandrabhaga, i.e. today’s Chenab at Akhnoor, lies close to the fort. The Jia Pota Ghat got its name from the Jia Pota tree whose botanical name is Putranjiva roxburghii of Euphorbiaceae family under whose shade the Raj Tilak ceremony of Maharaja Gulab Singh took place on 1822. 

7. Ranbireshwar Temple

• Dedicated to Lord Shiva
• largest Lord Shiva temples in the entire North India
• built by Maharaja Ranbir Singh

8. Peer kho cave temple:
• well-known Shiva temple in Jammu
• Built by Raja Ajaib Dev
• also called 'Jamwant Cave'

II. Reasi

1. Vaishno Devi temple:

• Vaishno Devi shrine is located in the lap of Trikuta hills which is 13 Kms from base camp Katra
• It is managed by Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board since 1986
• Dedicated to three hindu goddesses: Maha Kali, Maha Lakshmi and Maha Saraswati

2. Shiv Khori cave

• famous cave shrines of Hindus devoted to lord Shiva
• located in Ransoo a village in the Pouni block in Reasi district
• constructed by the Shiv Khori Shrine Board

3. Siyad Baba

• It enjoys the status of one of the biggest waterfall in North India
• Located on the Chenab River in Reasi District

4. Bhimgarh Fort

• built by Gen. Zorawar Singh
• The fort is built on the bank of River Anji 

5. Dera Baba Banda Bhadur

• Baba Banda Singh was a famous saint soldier of Guru Govind Singh

6. Salal Power Project

• constructed on river Chenab in the district Reasi. The project has capacity of 690 MW
• The beneficiary states are U.P, J&K, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, H.P. Chandigarh & Rajasthan

7. Nau Devi Mata Mandir

8. Dera Baba Banda Bhadur

• A Gurdwara on the bank of Chinab is reminding memories of Baba Banda Singh, a famous saint soldier of Guru Govind Singh

III. Udhampur

1. Sudh Mahadev temple And Mantalai

• temple dedicated to Hindu God Shiva
• Gauri kund is a spring located in Sudmahadev
• A few kilometers further ahead of Sudh Mahadev is Mantalai temple

2. Ramnagar fort

•  situated on the bank of Kud river

3.  Patnitop or Patni Top  is a hilltop tourist location in Udhampur district. The river Chenab flows close to this location

4. Nathatop  has views of snow coated hills specially during winters

5. Sanasar lake

• Sanasar is the name given to the two small villages of Sana and Sar
• Named after small local lakes, Sana and Sar are located in Udhampur district on the national highway 1A
• The J&K Tourism Department has introduced paragliding & Camping activities in Sanasar

6. Mansar lake

• It is a lake fringed by forest-covered hills, over a mile in length by half-a-mile in width. Surinsar-Mansar Lakes is designated as Ramsar Convention in November 2005

7. Krimchi temples

Note: Udhampur is also known as 'Devika Nagri' meaning 'city of Goddess'. Devika river is also known as the younger sister of the Ganges.

IV. Poonch (or Punch) 

1. Poonch fort

• foundation of the fort was laid by Raja Abdul Razaq Khan but construction of the same was completed by his son Raja Rustam Khan

2. Noori Chammb

• Named after the Mughal queen Noor Jahan by Jahangir. Chamb" in local terminology is water fall.
• Noori Chamb is the tallest plunge waterfall and a tourist attraction in Poonch district

3. Mughal Road & Pir ki Gali

• It is the road between Bufliaz, a town in the Poonch district, to the Shopian district. It reduces the distance between Shopian and Poonch from 588 km to 126 km. It connects Poonch and Rajouri to Srinagar in the Kashmir valley. 
• Parts of the road were used in the Mughal period over the Pir Panjal Pass. 
• It also provides an alternative route into the Kashmir valley off the Jammu-Srinagar highway
• It passes through scenic places like Buffliaz, Behramgala, Chandimarh, Dugran, Pushana, chatta pani, Mansar, Peer Ki Gali are also linked with it.
• Peer ki gali is located exactly on the boundary of Poonch and Shopian. Peer marg is known as the crown of Pir panchal range

3. Machail Mata temple:

• shrine dedicated to Goddess 'Chandi Mata' 
• located in Machail village at Padder (or Padar) valley in Kishtwar. Paddar is known for its sapphire mines

Note: Kishtwar in general and Dachhan, Marwah, Warwan and Paddar in particular have ideal sites for aquatic sports like water rafting, Kayaking, Water skiing and Ice-Hockey. Paragliding and rock climbing can also be introduced as major sports in the slopes of Kishtwar town, Bhandarkot, Dachhan, Marwah, Warwan and Padder areas

1. Bani

• Town Bani is flourished along the river 'SEWA
• It is also famous as MINI KASHMIR of Kathua district

IX. Samba

1. Purmandal (also called Chhota Kashi) and uttarbehni

• is a village located on the Devika River
• Purmandal temple is dedicated to Hindu Goddess Parvati.  A number of other temples are dedicated to Lord Shiva. 
•  Utterbehni is a religious place situated on the bank of river Devika

2. Chichi Mata temple

X. Rajouri

1. Dhanidhar Fort: 

• Mian Hathu, appointed as the Governor of Rajouri by Maharaja Gulab Singh, completed the construction of fort in 1855
• the whole Valley of Rajouri could be viewed from the fort
• The fort was used for the storage of revenue that was collected from the farmers in the shape of grains

2. Shahdara Sharief

• built by Maharaja Gulab Singh to pay tribute to Baba Ghulam Shah
• this place was earlier named as Sein Dara (adobe of Lion) which later changed into Shahdara Sharief
